Learn about the harsh reality faced by our beneficiary families
The families we support at Haciendo Camino live in situations of structural poverty and vulnerability, with unmet basic needs and precarious living conditions:
• Overcrowding, lack of sanitation, and the absence of essential services such as electricity, gas, or drinking water.
• Food insecurity and limited access to healthcare and education; many children do not start school until they are 4 or 5 years old.
• Parents with informal, low-paying jobs and little education, which makes planning and saving difficult.
• Despite the difficulty in envisioning a different future, these are resilient families who want the best for their children and who, even in these circumstances, demonstrate an enormous capacity for adaptation and strength to move forward.
