Committed to access to healthcare
We firmly believe that ongoing accompaniment and having access to basic medical care are essential to improve the quality of life of families in northern Argentina. That is why, every month, we organize outreach trips where volunteer doctors, working in partnership with Cuerpo & Alma and Aéreo ONG, travel to our Centers to provide free medical care to communities living in conditions of social vulnerability and isolation.
These trips last three days, during which our teams and volunteers reach some of the most remote areas of Santiago del Estero, Chaco, and Salta, ensuring that families receive the medical attention they would otherwise be unable to access due to limited availability of healthcare services.
The medical specialties involved include internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, otolaryngology, traumatology, family medicine, ophthalmology, speech therapy, diagnostic imaging, cardiology, psychology, and dentistry.
Although emergency care and surgeries are not performed, healthcare professionals address key aspects that are crucial to people’s well-being. Their work focuses on disease prevention, gynecological check-ups, pediatric care, diagnostic imaging, access to medication, and the promotion of healthy habits.
While the work of medical professionals is essential in these communities, so is the close support provided by our social team. We ensure that each patient understands and can properly follow medical recommendations. In addition, we carry out personalized follow-up to identify individual needs and guarantee continuity of care.
Each patient has their own medical record, a fundamental tool that allows volunteers to revisit each case during subsequent trips, ensuring consistent and ongoing medical follow-up over time.
The lack of access to healthcare in the communities we serve is a deeply moving reality. That is why we reaffirm our commitment and, through collaboration with partner organizations and the tireless work of volunteer professionals, continue striving to ensure that every child and family can access the healthcare they deserve.
